Walking + fetus = get up

Key 巳 sì (variant 己)

Get up 起 qǐ is composed of two characters :walk 走 zǒu and our famous fetus 已 amputated by one stroke, as we saw in the previous article.

In the photo below, we see the first graphical representation of walking 走 zǒu on the right, which reminds us of a person walking:

The child first crawls on all fours, and to walk he must first learn to stand up. The idea is easy to remember!
